Certified Nurse-Midwives

A Certified Nurse-Midwife attends childbirth, provides support during labor and delivery, and supervises the general care of women directly after birth. Midwives also focus on the needs of the family and encourage family participation in the birth. Our CNM’s work very closely with the doctors to ensure patient comfort and safety. All our CNM’s are licensed as Advanced Registered Nurse Practioners in Florida and on staff at Martin Memorial Medical Center.

All of our Nurse-Midwives are members of The American College of Nurse-Midwives.

A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced academic and clinical experience, which enables him or her to diagnose and manage most common and many chronic illnesses, in close association with our health care team at Physicians To Women. Our nurse practitioners provide a lifetime of high-quality, cost-effective and individualized care for our patient’s needs.

Nurse practitioners are educated through programs that grant either a certificate or a master’s degree. A registered nurse is recommended to have extensive clinical experience before applying to a nurse practitioner program.

All of our Nurse Practitioners are members of The American College of Nurse Practitioners.
